STUFF has many opportunities for volunteers!
STUFF Advocates
- For folks that want to spread the word about STUFF, work our info booth at events and share the fun of creative reuse!
STUFF Eco-educators
- For folks that have a background and interest in arts and environmental education. We will design eco-birthday parties, participate in partner organization events and work with the upcoming after-school and summer programs. Training will be available to eco-educators through the Department of Environmental Quality!
STUFF Curriculum Team
- For folks who are interested in developing a guiding curriculum for our short term programs and upcoming after-school and summer programs. We will meet 3-4 times this Spring. Email now if interested!
STUFF Artists
- For folks that use recycled materials in their work and are looking to show and sell their work through STUFF.
We hope to highlight local artists and crafters each month on the website and at our event info booth. If you are interested in becoming a STUFF artist, contact us.
STUFF Collectors
- For folks that are great at finding treasure! We need volunteers to handle donated materials to STUFF. We will be working with other local organizations to set up strategic donation bins that will need sorting, organizing and distributing.
STUFF Internships
- For folks that can commit to working with STUFF for ten to twenty hours a week for at least four months. Internships are available year round and can be focused on one area of interest or include all areas of our organization. Information is below:
Stuff Inc. is a project of the Back Porch Energy Education Corporation, a 501c3 non-profit organization working with communities to cultivate local responses to the national and global environmental issues.
The mission of Stuff is to provide Richmond with a community space for creative reuse, education, environmental awareness, and fun stuff.
General Duties:
Writing and Research: Including but not limited to market research, development of website content, grant writing and proofreading, writing newsletters.
Curriculum Development and Education: Participate in environmental curriculum development and present at Stuff Inc. speaking engagements. Administrative tasks and follow-up responsibilities.
Creative implementation of development and marketing projects.
Qualifications:Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
Creative thinking skills.
Motivation to work alone as well as with others.
Training includes:Small business marketing activities.
Offsite consultation and communication skills.
One-on-One Curriculum development with educational professionals.
Experience with developing marketing and fund-raising materials.
